Steven.Langdale Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 I take it you mean the climate control is still flashing... I'm not sure you can stop it flashing without clearing the code with vag-com. you could try disconnecting the battery for a while to see if that clears it. Who fitted the compressor? If it were me, i'd be inclined to go back and ask them to do it. in it's current state the unit "thinks" there has been a problem, surely a decent repairer would fix the fault and clear the error in the controller. Dave-G Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006  Hrm - aftermarket warranty - non ford dealer :( Quote
bigdaddy Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 you could ask the nice ford man to reset it an bung him enough for a couple of pints  Quote
Dave-G Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 Question for techies... The AC clutch engages about 15 seconds after the engine starts - and stays running regardless of heat setting, should this run all the time? The car is a Single AC rather than dual Quote
seatkid Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 AFAIK In your case (VW PD engine) If you switch to ECON the compressor will disengage whereas in AUTO, the compressor runs all the time. On VW engines the compressor is a variable dispacement design. Ford engines are fitted with a fixed displacement design, so on FORD engines, the compressor cycles (in AUTO). The cycling is controlled by the deicing thermostat on the evaporator. VW engines dont have this stat. No doubt someone will beg to differ.... :) Quote
Dave-G Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 :) Thanks seatkid - The last couple of times I went out at night I've noticed the lights dim sometimes - perhaps it's kicking in and out now, will check soon. Now for some rockit science stuff:  The panel no longer flashes! - And I aint done jack to it! Quote
johnb80 Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 No doubt someone will beg to differ.... :) Oh please, please, please can I differ, it would mean such a lot to me and I could help all of the starving people in the world and bring peace to all  Quote
